We're honored to have you as a new guest! To provide the most relaxing experience possible, we've taken the 'guess work' out of spa. Our guide below, 'how to spa', should answer the majority of the questions you may have as a new guest. Many guests find reading through this information in advance allows them more time to relax and enjoy our facilities. Please acquaint yourself with our spa policies to ensure a safe and enjoyable visit for all of our guests. Also listed below are frequently asked questions and information to make your service more enjoyable and 100% stress free. Don't hesitate to call if you have any questions!   • NEW CLIENT INFORMATION FORM is for new guests receiving massage, facial, body treatments, or halotherapy.  This form will be available for you to fill out at the spa, but most guests find it helpful to print and complete prior to their first visit so that they can relax and have more time to spa.
  • SPA POLICY AND LIABILITY WAIVER is for all guests receiving any service at PurLux.  Save your ink for cute photos of your pets or kids, this form DOES NOT need to be printed.  You'll be asked to sign an electronic version attached to your client profile in our scheduling software upon arrival.  This copy is simply here as a courtesy for your review prior to signing.

How to Spa: PürLux Spa Policy & Helpful Guest Information

New guests.

New spa guests are asked to arrive at least thirty minutes prior to scheduled appointment time to complete necessary forms and become comfortably settled into our facility.  Please park in the large, fenced in parking lot at the end of the complex.  Our spa coordinator will show you how to use your locker, ensure you have the correct size robe and slippers, introduce you to our complimentary amenities and ensure that you feel comfortable using them.  Some forms may be completed prior to your visit, those forms will soon be available here.  *Guests with appointments in our salon are asked to arrive ten minutes early.

Safety.

Your safety is our number one concern.  Throughout our facility, there are a number of areas that contain extremely hot or slippery/wet surfaces including, without limitation, the walls, floors, doors, bricks, seats, benches, rocks, and heating elements within the saunas and steam rooms.  Certain services and amenities are not recommended for guests with specific medical conditions.  Please consult with a physician prior to use of these amenities. 

The steam room and sauna can be unsafe for some medical conditions including but not limited to pregnancy and conditions related to circulatory system. 

The salt room may not be recommended for some medical conditions, including but not limited to: tuberculosis, fever, contagious conditions, severe heart disorders, advanced pregnancy, acute state of respiratory attack.  Due to the detoxification factor of halotherapy, clients undergoing chemotherapy should avoid the salt room until they finish their series of chemotherapy treatments.  

Clients with special needs.

PürLux is an ADA compliant facility.  We are happy to provide personal assistance to ensure that our guests with special needs have full and complete use and enjoyment of PürLux.  We do have an elevator lift to provide access to the second floor to the spa area.  Please let our spa coordinator know if we can be of any assistance. 

Spa amenities.

Spa services consist of massage, facials, and body treatments.  Only spa services include access to the following complimentary amenities: steam room and sauna (separate men and women's), tranquility lounge, garden lounge, locker, robe and towel service, beverage and snacks.  Only spa guests are permitted in the spa area, unless accompanied by a staff member on a guided tour.  *seated massage is performed downstairs in our salon area and does not include access to our spa amenities. 

Amenities pass.

We realize that some of our guests who visit for halotherapy, salon, and other services at PürLux may wish to utilize our amenities.  Only guests receiving a spa service are eligible for full day access, however we do have a limited number of amenities passes available for purchase.  Our amenities pass includes (1) halotherapy session, in addition to the spa amenities listed above.  Amenities may be utilized directly before or after the halotherapy session.  Introductory pricing for the amenities pass at PürLux is just $50.  

Scheduling

To ensure you receive your desired appointment time, we recommend that you schedule your appointment in advance.  The fastest way to schedule an appointment is to call and speak directly with our spa coordinator, however you also have the option to email or message our spa coordinator on facebook and will receive a response within 24 business hours.  We personally know and love many of our clients and guests, however we kindly request that you do not personally message our staff to schedule appointments.  We feel badly when we are unable to get back to you in a timely fashion.  Many days, we check our facebook and text messages in the short window of time that we have between clients.

Confirmation

Our scheduling software sends email confirmation reminders, with the option of text message reminders as well.  Please click 'confirm' on the email and the therapist you are scheduled with will see that you have confirmed.  Our spa coordinator does perform courtesy calls to remind our guests the day before their scheduled appointment, however on busy days you may not receive a call.  Please be sure to check your email and remember your appointment time.

Late arrival.

Please arrive a minimum of (15) minutes prior to your appointment so that we may start your service on time or even early.  A late arrival may require a reduced appointment time, at scheduled price, with respect to the clients that are scheduled after you.  We recommend that all guests come thirty minutes or even an hour early to fully immerse yourself in relaxation and to fully benefit and get the most from your visit.  Consider the time it takes to park your vehicle, use the restroom prior to your appointment, change into your robe, etc.  We invite you to make spa time a ritual.  Give yourself permission to take time for yourself, and practice the art of self care.  Come early, stay late - be our guest.  We understand things come up, ‘life’ happens, and other unforeseen circumstances.  Please give us a call if you are running late.  We will do our best to expedite your checkin - which may include heading straight to the treatment room after forms are completed. 

Cancellation & rescheduling policy.

All will agree, time is our most valuable asset. We ask that appointments be guaranteed against late cancellation or rescheduling with a major credit card OR gift certificate. Your card/gift certificate is not billed unless your vacated appointment goes unfilled. We do our best to fill these openings–just like you, we’d much prefer to have another guest take your place than charge for a cancellation.  Please provide at least 24 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule a treatment; 48 hours notice is required to cancel or reschedule groups of three or more, 72 hour notice is required for groups of four or more. This allows the spa enough time to fill appointments. Late cancellations will be charged 50% of treatments scheduled. “No-shows” or appointments cancelling will be charged 100% of treatments scheduled.  The spa needs to pay its therapists even if a client is a “no-show”. This policy allows us to retain great employees.

Guest Illness.

If you are sick, appointments must be rescheduled.  We understand that it may be tempting to come to the spa on a day when you are home from work, but we sincerely insist that you reschedule.  Please understand that in addition to making your condition worse, your presence would put our entire staff and guests at risk.  We do have guests with compromised immune systems who receive massage therapy during chemotherapy.  Contact with those clients, or even our staff puts others at risk.  Please call as soon as early in the day as possible to cancel your appointment if you are sick.  Thank you for understanding and supporting us in keeping PürLux a sanitary and safe space for all.

Staff Illness & road conditions.

In the rare event of bereavement, illness, or snow/hazardous road conditions, Pürlux may need to change your appointment.  In any of these instances, we work diligently to schedule you with another service provider when possible.  

Arrival.

 Please check in with our spa coordinator at the front desk upon arrival. 

Quiet, please.

Like you, our guests come to PürLux to relax and enjoy a tranquil and stress-reducing experience.  Please speak quietly and keep conversation to a minimum in the hall outside of the treatment rooms.  We realize you may be visiting PürLux with a group of friends or loved ones.  Feel free to converse in our lounge areas, but please speak quietly and be courteous of other guests.  Please be sure that cell phones are set to silent, even if they are kept in your locker.  

What to wear, where.

To keep your robe fresh and dry, we recommend wrapping up in the provided towels when enjoying the steam room and sauna.  Wear your robe in any common areas, to and from treatment rooms.  While we ask that you do not bring robes, towels, or sandals from home to use in our facility, you may bring a clean swim suit to wear in the steam room or sauna if you prefer that option.  Sandals should be worn in common areas, steam room and sauna.  Hooks are provided in treatment rooms to hang your robe during your session, and directly outside of the steam rooms and saunas.

Lockers & personal items.

 

PürLux provides its clients locker for the storage of clothing and personal items that include, but are not limited to: wallets, money, jewelry, credit cards, and other valuables. This service is a courtesy to our guests.  The guest assumes all responsibility and risk for lost or stolen items that have not been secured in the locker.  If we notice that you forget something, we will be sure to call you and hold the items(s) at the front desk for you.  However, PürLux is not responsible for any lost or damaged items during you visit to our facility.

Children.

To maintain our serene atmosphere, we do not permit children in the spa area unless they are receiving spa services AND accompanied by an adult.  Please note, written consent from parent/guardian is required in order for minors to receive spa services.  Parents are responsible to ensure that children are well behaved and respect the spa experience of other guests.

Gratuities.

A frequently asked question from our guests is ‘what should I leave as a tip?’  Gratuity is a personal choice.  Customary gratuity for each service provider is 15 to 20 percent.  Should you decide to leave a gratuity, you may use cash or card and and give directly to the service provider or leave with front desk attendant.  100% of gratuity is given directly to service providers. Tipping is never expected, but always appreciated.

Men and women’s areas.

Men and Women’s locker rooms are identified with signage.  Please use only your designated area, and close the door behind you as you enter and exit the locker rooms.

 Photographs/videos.

We realize you may want to share photos of your visit with your friends and family or on social media.  We appreciate you sharing your experiences and photos of our beautiful facility on social media, we only ask that you are mindful of others.   PürLux respects the privacy of all guests, therefore we do not permit photographs or video of other guests at PürLux without permission. PürLux shall not be liable for the acts of other guests who violate this policy.  If a guest observes or has a reason to believe that another guest has violated this policy, please immediately inform the PürLux staff management for investigation. Anyone violating this policy shall be prohibited from using the facilities.  PürLux may ask for permission to take photos for advertisement purposes, but will include a Photo Release to the client if such situation occurs.  PürLux may share photos posted to our website from checkin’s on Facebook, as well as guest reviews on facebook.

No smoking.

Smoking is not permitted. There is no smoking inside, outside on the deck, or in front of the building.  Please be courteous of other guests entering and exiting the building, and use the designated smoking area located on the corner of the complex closest to citizens bank.  Please use the provided disposal and do not throw cigarette butts onto the ground. 

Departure.

Your spa service includes access to our complimentary steam room and sauna, and both our tranquility and garden lounges.  Stay as long as you like!  We understand that you may want to stay all night, but at some point we must send our hard working staff home to rest and recharge for another glorious day at PürLux.  Please note that we do give our evening guests a fifteen minute curtesy notification prior to closing the steam rooms and saunas for the day.  Please place all towels, robes, and slippers in the laundry bin in the locker room.  We realize that our robes and slippers are so comfy that you may want to take them home.  We do carry all of the products used for treatments, as well as robes, linens, and slippers in retail area at the front desk.  Our spa coordinator will gladly assist you with any retail purchases, answer questions about our unique artisan gifts & products, as well as reschedule you for a future visit. 

Preparation.

All service times include a 3-5 minute window for guest transition on and off of the table.  Some guests choose to upgrade their services or add enhancements.  Most of the time we can do this easily, however it depends on the schedule and availability.  We recommend adding enhancements in advance to be sure the service provider has time to prepare and make everything perfect for your visit.  

Communicating your preferences.

To make your experience as enjoyable as possible, please inform your therapist of any preferences.  Your therapist will appreciate knowing your thoughts and clarifying any requests or issues that need attention.  Please feel free to ask questions, and be sure to inform your therapist if there is any part of your treatment is unenjoyable.  For example, if you need more pressure, less pressure, are too cold or too warm, please tell you therapist DURING the massage and do not wait until the massage is over.  Some of our guests enjoy conversing during their treatment, some prefer to enjoy the treatment in silence.  The therapist will follow your lead, feel free to inform them of your preference.  We truly want the opportunity to make your experience perfect before and during your treatment.

Modesty & professional promise.

We respect your privacy, and honor our professional code of ethics as professionals.  It is never required that you are unclothed in front of anyone at our spa. In addition to the private changing room in each locker room, towels and robes are provided and can keep you covered. Our massage therapists are trained to use suitable draping, which means that they leave the treatment room while you get under the sheet on the massage table, and they keep you covered at all times except for the area of the body they are massaging. They also leave the treatment room before you get up from the table.

Pregnancy or medical conditions.

Be sure to mention any medical information when you book an appointment. Certain treatments may not be advisable for you. Before your treatment begins, let your therapist or esthetician know of any medical concerns or if you’re wearing contact lenses before you have a facial.  If you are pregnant, massage services are provided only if you are beyond your first trimester (twelve weeks).  Even after your first visit, you must inform us of any changes in medical conditions.

This is a professional spa establishment.

Our trained therapists and estheticians are here solely to help improve your wellness and relaxation. If a therapist ever feels that a client is behaving inappropriately, they are authorized to stop the treatment immediately and direct you to the front desk. 

Gift Certificates.

Gift Certificates may be purchased in any increment at PürLux, in person or over the phone and emailed.  Our spa coordinator is happy to help you select the perfect gift for your loved one.  Gift certificates expire one year from purchase date, and must be presented at time of use.  If you forget to bring your gift certificate, you may pay with cash or credit card and save your gift certificate for a later visit.  Gift certificates will not be extended past expiration date, we recommend scheduling at least two months prior to expiration date to ensure all services may be redeemed in time.  Please keep gift certificates in a safe place - lost or stolen gift certificates are unable to be verified or redeemed.       

Products.  

We proudly offer a unique variety of Kentucky Proud & local artisan gifts, as well as luxury spa items.  Did we miss something?  Let us know if we aren't carrying your favorite skin, hair care, or body products.  We are happy to look into carrying your favorite products.    

Returns or exchanges.

Products.  The majority of our products are skincare and body products.  Once these products leave our facility, there is no way for us to deem them safe and free of contaminants and retail ready for other guests.  Even with tags still in tact, there is no way for us to ensure that a robe was not taken into a home with pets, smoke, or other allergens.  Due to the nature of our products, all sales are final. 

Gift Certificates. Gift certificates are non-refundable.  However, you may exchange your gift certificate for a different service or product in most occasions.  Please call and speak with our spa coordinator for more information. 

Understanding the Structure. 

Please note that our business is supportive of the independent businesses which operate inside of PürLux.  Occupants of our salon suites set their own prices, hours, maintain their own business operations, and often times sell their own gift certificates.  PürLux chooses to collaborate with those who embody professionalism and quality work, and are supportive of our goal of collaborative excellence.  Should your experience not meet up to these expectations, we welcome your feedback.  

Security.

PürLux maintains video surveillance of the premises for security purposes.  However, client privacy issues are fully respected and there are no security cameras in locker rooms, changing areas, sauna areas, treatment rooms.   

Safety.  

At any point during your visit, if you should require medical attention please inform your service provider and/or our spa coordinator immediately.  The safety of our guests and our staff is our number one priority.
