About Brianna

I went to an accredited University for Interior Design. I studied color theory, drafting by hand and computer, Art history and more whilst there. It was a really difficult program with no guarantee of placement at Sophomore year. I did pass that initial placement and graduated the program.

I worked in furniture, then residential design briefly. Then, I worked for a small Architecture firm for about 7 years doing commercial design.

After that, I faced a layoff when the coal Industry started a steady decline, my firm downsized. It was primarily a Coal Engineering / consulting parent firm.

I took a brief stint back in residential and furniture before staying at home with the kiddos for a bit.

I really got interested in makeup especially when I had my 2nd daughter. I had brutal postpartum depression and makeup was my favorite thing to do. It brought me so much peace and the creativity of it inspired my soul.

That love turned into a hobby. That hobby turned into an opportunity. My previous color theory and design education inspired me to feel confident pushing further into that idea. I joined a company that made the most amazing and unique primarily cream based makeup called Maskcara, now Seint Beauty which I still work with and use on all my gorgeous clients.

When I first dabbled in makeup, I was just playing and then people started asking me to do their makeup for proms and weddings.  I loved makeup but struggled to find a solution to making that my job and livelihood alone.

I went through a divorce and started life all over from scratch. My girls and I faced some major challenges and hardships. Determined to succeed and do better for my children, I worked several jobs at once.

I trained in Lash extensions because I was dead set on a career in the Beauty industry by this point. I was tired of it being a side gig.

I got permitted/ certified in Lashes and Makeup Artistry. I left all the things behind that didn't bring me joy and took a leap of faith!

I was finally working at what I loved full time! I decided early on I really longed to train in Permanent Makeup. It took years to save the money for the training, tons of research and honing in on my Makeup Artistry skills before I was truly ready.

The training was amazing, jam packed and so intense. Multiple hours with mentorship and a critique/ practice period helped me to excel. It was clear to me that this is exactly what I was made for. This was my calling.

I am so honored to have had the amazing opportunity to work with so many fantastic clients already in my first year as a Permanent Makeup Artist. I can't wait for many more!

Permanent Makeup General Information

All of your burning questions about permanent makeup are answered here.

What are powder brows?

A cosmetic semi permanent makeup technique designed to create eyebrows with soft powder effect, very similar to powder makeup. Powder effect is done with a shading technique using a permanent makeup device, which is similar to a tattoo gun. Many people prefer this method due to its soft and natural look and less invasive nature. This is also the best option for mature skin or oily skin. With powdered brows, instead of merely using strokes to fill in eyebrow hairs, the needle is used to draw both dashes and dots on the targeted area. The pigment is deposited onto the skin. Powdered brows typically last for 2-3 years with routine touch-ups. What to expect:

  • *Initial appointment
  • *Touch up appointment after healed
  • *Annual touch up to boost color
  • *Initial Bold/ will lose some of color
  • *Peeling in a few days lasting for days
  • *Fading of color
  • *Reappearance of color

What are Ombre Brows?

Ombre brows Very similar to powder brows but usually a lighter front portion of the brow. The methodology of ombre brows utilizes a technique of shaded brows to give the appearance of fullness, thus giving excellent definition. You can build upon the initial shading to layer the look of your eyebrows. At first, the brows may seem dark, but they quickly fade to a soft, gentle look.

What is microblading?

Microblading is a form of a cosmetic permanent makeup performed using, a manual (not a machine) disposable handheld tool, composed with very fine needles resembling the shape of a blade (we call it a microblade), to hand draw each individual hair and simultaneously implant the pigment into the skin. Generally, results can last from 18 to 30 months depending on your skin type, lifestyle, and how often you get touch-ups.

Lip Blushing

Lip Blushing Lip blushing is a semi-permanent tattoo that can enhance the color and shape of your lips and give the impression of more fullness. This is done by depositing color ink into your lips and along your lip line to improve the overall look. The color is subtle to give natural-looking results. How long does lip blushing last? Typically, lip blushing lasts between two to three years and will gradually lighten and fade over time, until your lips slowly return to their natural hue. What to expect:

  • *Initial appointment
  • *Touch up appointment 1-2
  • *Annual touch up
  • *Bright initial color with an overline of the lips/ solid outline.
  • *Fading to subtle color with shaping
  • *Touch up required for more color

Eye Liner

Also known as an eyeliner tattoo, permanent eyeliner is a treatment you can receive that replaces the need to wear eyeliner each day. Permanent eyeliner involves using a tattooing technique to apply ink along the lashline to create the appearance of eyeliner. (This ink is permanent, but has to be touched up every 3-5 years.) Eyeliner tattoos can be applied in a variety of styles, from extremely thin and natural-looking liner, to thicker lines, and even winged eyeliner

I cannot stress the importance of being fully prepared for your appointment. There is a lot of information to go over, and steps you must take to secure your appointment even after scheduling. If you fail to complete certain steps your appointment may be cancelled. Please read through this section completely and make sure you've done everything on the checklist to prepare.

Pre-Procedure Check-List

Deposit Paid

Immediately after booking your appointment, you will receive an email with a link to pay deposit. If you haven't received confirmation or paid a deposit, appointment will not be honored. Please contact me/PurLux spa immediately if you do not receive a link to pay deposit. I do offer after pay options on some services. Email Bredale1@gmail.com for afterpay options.

Forms Completed

Immediately after booking your appointment, you will receive a confirmation email from PurLux. Directly above the logo in the body of the email, there should be a link requesting that you complete forms. Occasionally a guests form will not deliver to their email - PLEASE call and let us know if this happens and we will either text or email another link. In the event you do not complete forms prior to your appointment, we ask that you arrive at least 20 minutes early to complete them in person. Please do not arrive at 3pm for your 3pm appointment if you still need to complete forms, you will be considered late. Upon reviewing the client intake form, occasionally a guest will discover that they need to reschedule their appointment to meet the requirements (ie, you discover that you must be off of steriods for 4 weeks so you must reschedule as your appointment is in just 2 weeks and you are currently taking steriods). For this reason - we strongly recommend that forms be completed prior to the appointment. If you choose to arrive early and complete forms at the spa, please review the information below to ensure that you are a candidate and you have 'prepared'. If you are not a candidate, it is your responsiblility to call and cancel the appointment to avoid a cancellation fee. You are not a candidate for Permanent make-up if:

  • • Pregnant or Breastfeeding
  • • On Accutane (must be off 12 months)
  • • Chemotherapy or Active Cancer (must be finished with chemo for 6 months)
  • • Keloid scar (yes, even one!)

Looking for Post Care instructions? READ ME!

For your convenience, I have provided a copy of all post care and FAQ/CONCERNS that clients face after PMU procedures. I have discovered that often times people are so excited/nervous at the appointment they don't hear everything or forget some of these things. Contact me if you need help, but I do ask that you thoroughly read through this section as 99% of the questions folks private message or text me are answered here.

Post Care - will edit just copied for structure for now.

Blot the brow with clean, dry tissue during the first 24 hours.

The next day, wash the brow using lukewarm water with a natural, unscented soap to gently clean off the area. DO NOT use perfumed soaps or cleansers. DO NOT scrub. Dry the area by blotting with a paper towel or letting them air dry. After the brow is dry, apply a small amount of the aftercare cream. Blot the excess cream with a tissue or lint free cotton round. Repeat this cycle of WASH, DRY, & cream TWICE a day for the next 14 DAYS. Never touch the procedure area without washing your hands immediately before.

Do not scrub, rub, or pick at the epithelial crust that forms. Allow it to flake off by itself. If it is removed before it is ready, the pigment underneath it can be pulled out.

Try to avoid heavy sweating, sun exposure, or sleeping on your face for the first 10 days. It is recommended to use sunblock after the procedure area has healed to protect from sun fading.

You must avoid swimming or soaking in pools, hot tubs, or oceans while you are healing.

No facials, Botox, chemical treatments and microdermabrasion for at least 4 weeks.

You may not apply makeup to the microbladed area for 10-14 days following the procedure.

Since the procedure involves inserting tiny dots of pigment gradually into the skin, making sure there are no harsh edges but a soft and smooth shading effect, your brows will be a bit swollen and too dark immediately after the treatment.

The healing process takes 4-6 weeks, during which you need to be extra careful about your brows.

Day 1 and 2

Your brows are too dark and they look like a block of pigment. Also, redness is present and they might be swollen. You might not be satisfied, but be prepared for this.

Day 3

The first thing you will notice is scabbing. After the ombre powder brows treatment, scabs fall off in one big or a few big pieces

Day 4-10

This period is the most difficult to overcome, Scabs keep falling off, leaving your brows in patches. Your brows are itchy but under no circumstances should you scratch or touch them. Carry on with the aftercare routine and be patient.

Day 10-14

Your brows look too light and you must think that the whole process has been unsuccessful. Scabs are not that common anymore. The healing period is almost over.

Day 14-21

Your brows are coming back! They are taking their final shape and look much better. However, they might still look a little bit patchy and uneven.

Day 21-30

Your brows are completely healed. Now it’s time to book a touch-up appointment to correct any possible patches and flaws. Perfection appointment needed 6-8 weeks later.

For the 10 days following the tattoo procedure, wash the site gently and apply cream multiple times per day.

WASH

GENTLY using water and your fingers ONLY. Avoid direct shower to mouth area. Wash at sink.

BLOT

Gently blot the area (do not rub or be rough) dry with a paper towel.

MASSAGE

Gently apply and massage creamAfter the initial healing period (7-10 days) use Chapstick, lip-gloss or lip balm with sun block over the tattooed area to preserve color. The continued use of at least SPF 30 sunblock with UVA and UVB protection will help to prevent fading.

You can take Ibuprofen or Tylenol and ice the area (20 minutes on, 20 minutes off) if needed. Barrier needed between ice and lips.

Perfection appointment needed 6-8 weeks later. Perfecting session ensures good color saturation and provides the opportunity to fine tune the final shape and color.

Dry Healing

Do not wet, wash or apply any makeup or skincare to area for 7 days.

Some peeling will occur. You will lose color and shrinkage will happen. Perfection appointment needed 6-8 weeks later.

No Touching

Try not to touch them much, particularly during the first few hours. The more you touch them, the more oils from your fingers get on them, the more strain on the lash root etc.

Keep Dry to Start

Keep them as dry as possible for at least 24-36 hours. This means, it’s ideal if don’t wash your hair during this time. However, if you need to, use only lukewarm water, and keep water off your eyes. This also includes avoiding steamy environments, very hot showers, spas, saunas etc. for 24 hours as a minimum. If it’s a very hot and humid day, try to stay out of the heat. All of this will allow the adhesive to cure as strongly as possible.

After the 24 hour mark, they are technically waterproof, however, if you are swimming or sitting in a hot spa daily, they probably won’t last quite as long as if you didn’t, more from rubbing them when water gets in your eyes.

Gently apply and massage creamAfter the initial healing period (7-10 days) If you have a very oily face, try to control this as much as possible with blotting papers, mattifying lotions etc. and by using oil-control moisturizer.

Make sure you are using oil-free products on your face, particularly eye makeup

Clean them properly, at least a few times a week with a foaming lash cleanser. Baby shampoo (not the conditioning type) in very small amounts is ok too.

Lashes & Makeup

Eyelash Extension

This technique uses a professional strength glue to attach a Lash to your individual Lash. There are many varieties of styles and lengths. Lashes are temporary and I often compare to the life of acrylic nails. Similar to when you get nails, and they bump off as they grow- so does a Lash extension. Lashes are always growing and regenerating. You lose lashes with or without extensions and they turnover and regrow. With proper maintenance, lashes do not damage the natural Lash. But, with prolonged usage of a heavy dramatic Lash or long periods without fill ins or improper care, damage can occur. I always alert my clients to take a break if I see and damage whatsoever.
